On 30 October 2012, the DBM consortium (of which AB is a member) installed a sluice weighing 4200 tonnes and 32 metres long at Merelbeke. Requiring absolute precision, the whole operation was carried out without a hitch in just two hours.
AB is part of the consortium which signed the DBM (design, build, maintain) contract for the Ghent R4 Ring in February 2012. The project company is made up of Via-Invest Vlaanderen and private investors. In this context, AB is involved in the design, construction and maintenance (for the next 30 years) of roads and bridges belonging to the R4 Ring around Ghent, a ring-road linking up with the E17 and E14. Also involved is a complementary cycling infrastructure. Work started on 1 March 2012 and is expected to be completed at the end of 2014.
